Through her unwavering commitment, she transformed the local rescue landscape, saving countless feline lives and inspiring others to take action.

For over 25 years, Town Cats has been a trusted resource for cat lovers, particularly in South Santa Clara County. With the steadfast support of her husband, Albert Mirko, Rosi built an organization that has rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed thousands of cats in need.

Known for tackling the toughest cases, Town Cats specializes in supporting Special Needs and Community cats that are often overlooked, including neonatal kittens requiring bottle-feeding, cats with intensive medical care needs, and those diagnosed with Feline Leukemia (FeLV) or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

Beyond rescue efforts, we are committed to public education and providing essential resources to our community. We have expanded our mission by introducing innovative programs such as:

Pawsitve Learning Education Program – Designed to educate the public about responsible cat care, community cat management, and humane treatment of felines through workshops, school programs, and outreach events.

Community Cupboard – A vital resource providing cat food and supplies to low-income cat guardians, fosters, and owners, ensuring that financial hardship does not lead to pet abandonment.

In order to honor and further the dreams of our founders, Town Cats is dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence. We strive to be better year after year, consistently evaluating and revamping our protocols, policies, and practices to align with the latest recommendations in veterinary medicine and leading shelter best practices. By staying at the forefront of feline care, we ensure that every cat receives the highest level of support and compassion.

Although Rosi and Albert Mirko are no longer with us, their legacy continues to thrive. Town Cats remains dedicated to carrying forward their mission—rescuing, advocating, and educating—ensuring that every cat has the chance for a better life.

Albert Mirko: October 11, 1942 – July 12, 2012
Rosemary Mirko: January 22, 1958 – July 7, 2013[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Our Vision” tab_id=”1747776796534-1f7a11fa-3aa8″][vc_cta h2=”Town Cats’ Vision”]Our Vision is to ensure the safety, health, and happiness of all cats.
