We’ve celebrated huge wins—saving over 600 cats in one year, creating new programs, going fully foster- and pet store-based, and expanding our outreach into schools and libraries. And we’ve also had our share of hard pivots—pausing programs, transitioning spaces, shifting our team.

Right now, we’re in a new chapter. We don’t have a traditional shelter. We’re supporting 54 cats in foster homes, pet stores and the cafe. And we’re asking ourselves daily: how do we keep doing the work in a way that’s sustainable, effective, and true to our mission?

We know change can bring questions—and we want to be fully transparent about where things stand.

Now, I want to clear the air on something that’s come up lately:

Where did our cats go? We did not transfer cats to another rescue or sanctuary. That was never on the table. When we commit to a cat, we follow through. Finding each one a loving, safe home remains our top priority—and that promise hasn’t changed.

And no, we did not shut down. We’ve created new educational tools, run library and school events, and started teaching our team how to TNR. And between January 1, 2025 and now, we’ve brought 45 cats into our care—18 of them from a hoarding case—plus owner surrenders and transfers from partner organizations.

The work didn’t end.
